これは日本が英国に寄せる親切心なのか

英紙Ｔｅｌｅｇｒａｐｈに以下の記事が掲載された。

Japan warns Britain to stay in the EU

Japan has warned Britain to stay in the European Union, hinting that tens of thousands of jobs could be under threat if it leaves.

具体的な内容は以下の通り。

Tokyo said that if the UK exits the single market it would have negative consequences for itself and, by implication, the UK.
"If the UK leaves the single market, countries investing in the UK and exporting to the EU would have to pay tariffs, and that is not good news," the Japanese embassy in London said, following an official submission by the country to a government consultation.
The UK's membership of the EU is under increased scrutiny after Prime Minister David Cameron pledged to renegotiate the relationship and hold a referendum on membership before the end of 2017.
Tokyo argued that Japanese companies see Britain as a gateway to the European market, according to a note seen by The Sunday Times.
The submission to the Foreign Office review said that the UK's membership of the EU has acted to bring Japanese investment to the country.
"The UK, as a champion of free trade, is a reliable partner for Japan. More than 1,300 Japanese companies have invested in the UK, as part of the single market of the EU, and have created 130,000 jobs, more than anywhere else in Europe.
"This fact demonstrates that the advantage of the UK as a gateway to the European market has attracted Japanese investment."

イギリスは自由貿易の旗手であり、日本のよきパートナーだ、ＥＵという共通市場へのゲートウェイとして１３００社以上の日本企業が他の欧州諸国にもまして英国に投資している。これにより１３万人以上の雇用が英国内に生まれている。

日本の対英投資がイギリスを豊かにしているという内容だ。いまイギリスはＥＵ内にとどまるか、欧州大陸との関係をどうするのか、再検討を進めたいかのような雰囲気である。もし、万が一、イギリスがＥＵから離脱するということになれば、イギリスに投資することの旨味は消え去り、その経済的損失は莫大な額になろう。そんな趣旨である。

上の文章のＵＫに日本を、ＪａｐａｎにＵＳを代入できる状態では到底ないが、経済の理屈としては、アメリカ企業が日本国内に投資をすれば、豊かになるのは日本人である。であるのに、アメリカ企業が日本に進出しようとすれば大騒ぎになるのは、日本の地生えの企業の経営者にとっては脅威だからだ。しかし、従業員にとっては損ではない。上に引用したイギリスと日本の関係と同じ、進出した米企業が日本人に雇用機会を提供するからだ。打撃を被るのは、人材活用ゲームに敗れ去る日本の経営者だけである。うまくやって勝てば良いのだ。日本企業の経営者と従業員が利害を共有しているというのは、大きな間違いなのだが、しばしば日本人の多くは、自分は何も経営者ではないのに、経営者の肩をもって外国企業の対日投資を阻止しようとする。面妖な話だ。何が得で、何が損なのか、分かっているのか？怯えるばかりのJapanese Establishmentに＜利用＞されるのも、いいかげん大概にするべきだと、小生は思ったりするのだ、な。

ま、あくまでも経済に関すること、カネに関する事柄だが、要するに暮らしに関することは大事な話題であるはずだ。暮らしに関する話をするときに、自分の利益でなく、自分が勤める会社の社長の暮らしを心配するなど、ちょっとおかしかあ、ござんせんか？義理とか、人情とか、恩義の話しとは別の話しである。
